I'm sorry but it's too late to say to me I shouldn't ship this

xD <3

People have been shipping them since 2008, so its not a new concept to me.

That said, it still makes me smile all the same.

I miss wooden playgrounds.

Same. I was very sad when they tore it down and replaced it with this metal/plastic stuff. This was way beyond my time there though. When I returned to get ref pics it was disappointing.

Had to use my memory to model and draw the old wooden one.

I enjoyed all my splinters. Playground cred.

Most of the wooden playgrounds in my area were replaced with plastic/metal stuff between 2006 and 2013, if I recall correctly. The most run down was located beside my primary school (it was replaced 2006) and featured a "boardwalk" that was broke and led nowhere. The one just round the corner from my house is still mainly wooden - the swings were replaced in 2004/5 but otherwise it hasn't been updated.

Metal equipment was in use at some playgounds in the 1990s. The first photo was taken in the early 2000s and the second in the mid 2010s. The metal climbing frame that I'm stood by in the first doesn't seem to have changed, nor has the yellow thing behind it. They didn't look brand new then, so my guess would be that they date from the mid 1990s.

I think the stuff you see in the foreground was added more recently - don't remember any of it when I was small.

Ah, I remember what a huge deal it was for me every time we started a new grade. I still feel a bit of a thrill around office supplies, I confess, and I'm a grown man (in body at least).

I get these kinds of thrills too. Even just re arranging furniture from time to time.

I live life in the fast lane as well.
